Day 8 : Putting Yourself Out There with Lori Franklin & Handmade U
Happy Day 8 Ya’ll!
After a little slide off the desk, cracked screen, and a weekend spa retreat for my little laptop at the Apple Store we are all fixed up and back at it now!!
I’m excited to reschedule a few chats I was to have today, we have so many wonderful ladies ready to share their stories, and I can’t wait for you to hear them all!!
What have these conversations inspired in you?? I am getting notes from gals that have been encouraged to start their own crafty pursuits, who are trying new things, and just are having fun listening to the stories and thoughts being shared. Please keep the feedback coming!
Here is yet another conversation that will inspire you!
Lori Sparkly Franklin is a mixed-media artist, jewelry maker, and retreat instructor from northern Minnesota, where she creates, teaches, and writes in a cozy loft also known as Sparkly Heart Studio.
She finds immense inspiration from lollygagging in nature, and is captivated by the profound beauty of all the small things in the Big Picture. She will dance at the drop of a hat, because it makes her happy, but she won’t sing, because it makes others unhappy.
Find Lori on IG @lorisparkly, on her website at Sparkly Heart Studios: sparklyheartstudio.com and her Facebook HERE ! Go check out all her good stuff!! Another spot to check in is wearestardustblog.com . Get your fill!
Lori Franklin was a joy to “meet” over Skype and I thoroughly enjoyed our chat and can’t wait for a time to bring her to Handmade U to teach her spaghetti cutter collage technique, SO FUN!

I ran out of space on my page for all the good notes from this chat. Do you feel like Lori used to when someone tells you to Put Yourself Out There do you feel like you about to WALK THE PLANK?! It can be that scary! But I like how Lori suggested to change the perspective. Think of it as sharing and not being a solitary adventure.
I also love her dream message:
Feel the Radiance
Feed the Radiance
Free the Radiance
Free it!! Share it. Form that long chain of people holding hands, reaching back to help others and reaching ahead to receive helps from those you can learn from.
As Lori says when you do what’s uncomfortable for you, you will always be rewarded. However sometimes these things take time! Patience can be required, planting the seeds you may find the growth come later down the road, but there is always growth.
Also finally remember, not everyone will Love what you are doing. What the goal should be is to find those people that will understand and love what you do and connect with them!
Thanks so much Lori for sharing!! Great advice, love your wisdom!
Our Deepest Fear, by Marianne Williamson
“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous? Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won’t feel insecure around you. We are all meant to shine, as children do. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It’s not just in some of us; it’s in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”
Such a wonderful poem!! It’s in the book below.
Now go be creative,
xox
